Easty and Westy are caught here doing their libertine dance with tambourines, inspired by the sculpture called “La Danse” by Carpeaux. In the 19th Century this sculpture was quite the scandal since it was so liberal at the time. The twins in this scene are truly vessels to communicate liberty and freedom which is what people connect to. It doesn’t matter if you’re conservative or a free spirit.
